Unequivocal Racism

The following occurred in Prescott Arizona, via USA Today:

A group of artists has been asked to lighten the faces of children depicted in a large public mural at a Prescott, Ariz., school…”We consistently, for two months, had people shouting racial slander from their cars,” Wall said. “We had children painting with us, and here come these yells of (epithet for Blacks) and (epithet for Hispanics).”…City Councilman Steve Blair spearheaded a public campaign on his talk show, saying: “To depict the biggest picture on the building as a Black person, I would have to ask the question: Why?”

This is yet another striking example of a growing wave of unfounded ethnically based xenophobia, made largely possible by the human consuming SB1070. In other words, racism. I implore all decent beings to speak your mind to this demagogue of a human being, Steve Blair, and give him a call at 928-777-1100, or email him here.

And I do not use that term lightly, racism. It is because SB1070 had no ties to reality–it is suspended in a fantastically fueled dream of nationalism coupled with racism. If it is not snuffed out, the consequences will be dire; humans will suffer through no fault of their own, and we will all be worse off for it. A sin unto one is a sin unto all.
