Fox News, with the help of a wannabe revolutionary, maligns CIR movement

by

In case you did not know, there is a conspiracy theory in the United States that all of the immigrants from south of the border are here to begin a socialist revolution. This is, of course, nothing but a conspiracy theory probably mostly fueled by an uninformed xenophobic segment of our populace. Nonetheless, there is always the willing fool who will give the haters what they want.

In this case, it was Ron Gochez, a high school teacher in LA, who was filmed several years ago calling for a revolution. Ironically, this video raised so many hackles only because of the hullabaloo coming out of Arizona. In fact, now that the government of Arizona does want to erase the past of Mexican-Americans living in Arizona, there is an actual concrete motivation for a revolution, at least within that state. To the interview where Mr. Gochez forgot how to play politics.

In the beginning of the interview, Mr. Gochez did quite well. He clarified some of his statements that were taken out of context. He also admirably stated that what he did in his private, he kept out of the classroom. But then the Fox News Anchor nailed him, providing fodder for all sorts of conspiracy theorists out there, including commentators on this blog.

Mr. Gochez was asked if he supported a revolution, as he stated in the original video. He answered: “We support the revolution that is happening all across Latin America. If you see what’s happening, it’s happening in a peaceful manner and we support that. Whether it’s happening in Bolivia, or whether it’s happening in Ecuador…”. The manner in which he answered that seems to indicate that he would be supportive of what’s happening in Venezuela and Cuba as well. At one point in the interview, Mr. Gochez also said he was a socialist and was against capitalism. That’s fine, but it is highly disputable whether what is happening in Latin America is even socialism.

Hugo Chavez of Venezuela uses socialism as a pretext for tyranny. At this point, when one needs to identify what kind of government Venezuela has, it is only a matter of to what degree that tyranny is. Chavez is a dictator; there is so much overwhelming evidence to support that conclusion. He acts like Fidel and Raul Castro are his close family. In other words, Chavez wants Venezuela to be a mirror image of Cuba, where everything is controlled by a supreme elite of “socialists”.  And what is happening in South America is not peaceful; has not been peaceful. Here’s a handy image of what Hugo Chavez wants his “revoution” to look like:

You may object: but he only mentioned Ecuador and Bolivia. No, he mentioned all of Latin America. Ecuador and Bolivia are also closely aligned with Cuba and Venezuela. This four-party alliance is avowedly against the United States. Gochez lives in the United States. He was on Fox News, speaking to an audience most likely completely unaware of anything outside of the phrase: “Socialism is the devil!”. It’s called being political, Gochez. Keep your dreams private, so that you do not, like you did, negatively affect those that are not dreamers; those that are serious about wanting to live a better life without delving into the treacherous terrain Latin American socialism. The interview is below:

Care to explain this statement, Bryan?

“In fact, now that the government of Arizona does want to erase the past of Mexican-Americans living in Arizona, there is an actual concrete motivation for a revolution, at least within that state”.
